Tel Aviv’s very first hotel was completed in 1913, for their pioneering owners Malka and Menahem Elkonin. “Elkonin” became the popular place for Neve Zedek’s social life; Malka and her husband loved to entertain and host parties.

Many historical figures visited the hotel; Albert Einstein, king Abdullah of Jordan and the first prime minister of Israel, David Ben Gurion.
